Wildlife Photography
The Discovery Islands are truly a photographer's paradise, with sweeping, spectacular ocean vistas and magnificent wildlife - the photographic opportunities here are limitless.
For even the most experienced photographer, it can be challenging to capture breathtaking wildlife images. A telephoto lens is essential. We have two lenses available for your use: a Nikkor 200–400mm f/4 and a Canon 100-400mm f/4.5&~5.6. Not only will these lenses get you closer to the action, they also feature optical stabilization to help provide sharper images. We also have a Gitzo carbon fibre tripod so you can take the perfect group portrait at one of our many lookouts.
To capture wildlife, technique and equipment are simply not enough; we must try to understand the animals and anticipate their movements. Sonora guides are experts in the area. They can suggest the optimal time of day for photographing animals, and the best locations to press the shutter.
Even during the long days of summer, time often flies when you're behind the lens. Capture lots and edit later. May good light be yours!
