The first week of September marks the beginning of Grizzly Bear season. These magnificent creatures come out of hibernation and make their way back to the Orford River to feed on salmon. Your adventure begins with a 30-minute boat ride from Sonora Resort to the Orford River. After a short bus tour to the river bed, you'll have the opportunity to get right down on the river bed with these magnificent Grizzlies. Don't forget your camera, as this will be the tour of a lifetime!

Your next adventure will be a tour through the Inside Passage of the Discovery Islands aboard our 28' Polaris vessel. You'll have the opportunity to stop and see black bear, bald eagles, porpoises and many other land and sea creatures.

To round-out your adventure, you'll embark on a guided hike around Sonora Island, with our expert guide who will share his knowledge on the local wildlife and flora.
