Sea Lion is now home to one of the largest commissions of BC art. The work of eleven West Coast artists ranging from glass to paint, kelp and woodwork add a cultured sophistication to Sea Lion’s natural surroundings. A glass structure featuring seven stellar sea lions by internationally acclaimed Markian Olynyk and18 storey poles carved by Philip Gray, a young Tsimshian/Cree artist, is reflective of the ecologically and sensitive environment of Sonora Island.
